REMARKS:
Come & enjoy this gardner's paradise. Main house has hardwood throughout and
an upgraded kitchen. Guest cottage is legal and has its own septic system. There
is a gourgous koi pond, a 2 car detached garage w/workshop, a huge barn from
early 1900's and room for a horse.
Cyndi's Notes: Yes!! wow!! definitely! we love it!! The neighborhood is peaceful and feels like home. And it's walking distance to an organic market and an easy drive or bike ride into town. We would have to get 3 units out of it to afford the $659k, but we would push for it (and there's a barn that I might be able to turn into an office/kitchen if the garage/workshop has to be a living unit. We only saw the outside but we can't wait to see the inside. If we only see one property, this is it.
Okay, we've seen the inside now. This is the one. We need someone to buy or rent the cottage (living room and bedroom are the same room, it has a separate kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, a walk in closet, skylights, and two decks). We need someone to rent or buy the outbuilding that is currently a two-car garage with a workshop. Someone who wants to save money by doing the work themselves is ideal but not required. We will have some room to park trailers.
Figure $175-200k purchase ($1500/month rent) for the cottage (and full share in the land) and maybe $150-175k purchase ($1200/month rent) for the garage. That includes any cost to renovate it, add a bathroom and kitchen, etc. These are estimates. We'd love it if you had money to put down, but it's not required. The main house (which Mikel and Cyndi will take) will be $300k and is 2 bedroom (not 3 like the listing says) with 2 baths. The main house has a laundry room which has its own entrance and will be shared with anyone who doesn't have their own. There is also a hot tub next to the main house which will be shared. The realtor says this property is not worth $659k but rather closer to $610k. Of course, we have no idea what we might end up paying for it.
The cottage is 500 sf and the garage is 945 sf. Outside measurements.
