Cyndi, Mikel, and Connie currently belong to a Buyer's Club that Connie helps to run. We get food from Mountain People's Warehouse, which is perhaps the most widely used distributor in the health food market. Basically, anything you could get at a Whole Foods (except for fresh meat and fish) you can get from Mountain People's. The buyer's club prices they charge are slightly higher than the prices for retailers, but they are still much cheaper than any retail place you might go. Their produce is spotty but otherwise quality and selection is excellent. The catches are we order once or twice a month and you might have to buy more than you really want (though you can often find people to split orders with you and some products are sold singly).
There is a Whole Foods right in town.
Guerneville has a Safeway and next to it is a health food store called Food for Humans (PO Box 1014, Guerneville, CA 95446 869-3612/869-2535). I've never been in but Connie says it's well-stocked with prices a bit higher than Whole Foods. There is a general store called Barlett's Market in Monto Rio. There is a listing for a Food For Thought that isn't on the Whole Foods website, so it must still be independent (PO Box 1608, 6550 Railroad Avenue, Forestville, CA 95436 887-1647 Email: Foodfairy@aol.com). Forestville is in-between Guerneville and Sebastopol.
